  ooooh, that's not very intuitive... perhaps a radio or a switch? "Search for tweets", "Search for people"

  Great idea, this has been included in the new v1.6 just release. While there isn't a "Go to user" you can search for users from the "Search" screen.

  This is a must have! I had to install the dreaded official app to search out a user to follow.

  Yes! I would also like to be able to treat a user as a 'column', and be notified whenever that person tweets. (One of the handiest features of the TweetDeck Android app.)

  Tweetbot for iPad does this very very nicely. Pleasepleaseplease 'lend' a few features from Tweetbot, then I am a Falconfan for life!
